Service Elevator Upgrade

The Two Lincoln Square service elevator will undergo renovations over the next few months. These upgrades include replacement and extension to the roof deck. This improvement will enhance accessibility and convenience for all residents - young and old! We apologize for any inconvenience during this time and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance the building's facilities and accessibility.

Passenger elevator (PE2) will serve as our service elevator throughout this time and will be available for move ins/outs/furniture deliveriesDue to possible delays, please allocate extra time for elevator usage, especially during the busy morning and evening commute times.

FAQ

How long will this upgrade take to complete?

The completion date for the service elevator replacement and roof deck extension is expected to be roughly 4-5 months, but there is no guarantee that it will be finished within that timeframe. We will provide updates throughout the upgrade as we have more information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Is this upgrade necessary?

Yes, the upgrade is necessary. The service elevator is being replaced due to age and performance as well as being extended to the roof deck to ensure that residents of all ages, including those with mobility challenges, can access the rooftop amenities. This enhancement will make the roof deck wheelchair and baby stroller accessible, creating a more inclusive and convenient environment for all residents and neighbors.

Is the roof deck open? 

Yes, the roof deck is open and accessible via the stairs on the 37th floor. There is currently a small section where the elevator is going to extend that is covered in scaffolding while the construction is taking place. 

​

How will residents do laundry?

While the service elevator is being upgraded, please use one of the passenger elevators to reach the 4th floor and then take the stairs to access the 2nd floor laundry room. For your convenience, we've added a TV in the laundry lounge area if you prefer to stay and wait for your laundry to be completed. If you need assistance carrying laundry up/down the stairs please contact the front desk for assistance.

How do I transport my bike?

As the service elevator undergoes renovations, we request your cooperation in using the padded elevator to transport your bikes to the main lobby.  We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.

What do I do with trash that won't fit down the chute?

During the upgrade to the service elevator, we kindly ask that you use the padded service elevator to transport and dispose of your oversized trash. Please contact the front desk if you need assistance. 

​

These upgrades to the service elevator will lead to significant improvements that will greatly improve its functionality and aesthetics as well as provide access to the roof deck for all of our neighbors. We are confident that the final result will significantly improve the overall resident experience.
